Alternatives to traditional handbells are chimes (a tubular instrument with the clapper on the outside) such as those manufactured by Malmark, Schulmerich, Suzuki Tone Chimes (educational section) and Belleplates® (a flat, triangular plate with clapper), invented in England by Belleplates® Ltd.
